Membership for Sheds and Shed Planning groups

Full membership

Open to Sheds or Shed Planning Groups (a number of people working towards creating a Shed) who complete this form and pay a subscription. Members are able to nominate someone for the Management Committee and have one vote on behalf of their Shed at General Meetings.

By joining UKMSA you are helping to build a movement that will not only reach out to and improve the wellbeing of many more men than the current c.6000 but which will continue to benefit your Shed too.  The more significant the movement the more resources it will attract. The current growth rate averages 14 new Sheds a month.

We are currently supporting growth by raising the profile of the Shed movement and providing our website backed up by a help-desk service, guidance notes, templates and some discounts. We also work to build community through supporting events and our newsletter. Clearly there is much more to do but having a membership has helped us attain a partnership with RVS and a grant to employ our new Director of Services Anne Oxley.

The current specific benefits of joining as a member of the UK Men’s Sheds Association are:-

  • 5% discount on Shed insurance
  • 49% discount on hand tools
  • 29% discount on power tools
  • Your Shed logo on our Map
  • Voting rights (1 vote per Shed) at UKMSA General meetings

Associate members (For individuals)

Individuals or organisations may join as Associate Members. They may attend any General Meeting at the committee’s discretion but have no voting rights.

Subscription costs

The minimum subscription is £15 from Sheds in planning, up to £50 for larger well-funded Sheds and any amount from individuals. We can invoice organisations as required. Payment options will be sent to you when you fill in the form you can download on this page.
