We have helped establish Men’s Sheds in Denmark. Our aim is to help set them up in a way that quickly becomes self-sustaining. The name for “Men’s Sheds” in Denmark is Mænds Mødesteder (Men’s Meeting place) There are now 30 Mænds Mødesteder in Denmark.
Fortunately, just before the Pandemic started to affect Denmark, we had embarked on a programme called “Men’s Meeting places in Nature” – This proved very opportune.
By the end of the project in the summer of 2019, more than 160 men had received over 280 hours of nature guidance divided into mushroom hunts, bird and fish trips and much more.
The project Men’s Meeting Places in Nature was implemented in the autumn of 2018 / spring 2019 and was led by the Forum for Men’s Health with the participation of a total of 15 Men’s Meeting Places and local nature guides around the country. The project was supported by the Danish Outdoor Council’s distribution funds for outdoor life, as part of the Danish Outdoor Council’s focus on outdoor life and activities in nature in the work with prevention and health.
By the end of the project in the summer of 2019, more than 160 men had received over 280 hours of nature guidance divided into mushroom hunts, bird and fish trips and much more.
During the Pandemic, this programme continued very successfully, as our Men’s Sheds could continue meet outside.
