Looking to use your skills to make a real difference? Our current opportunities are all voluntary roles, offering the chance to support a growing national charity and help strengthen the Men’s Sheds movement across the UK.

Trustee (Voluntary)

UKMSA are seeking new Trustees to join our Board and help guide the future of UKMSA and the way we work with Sheds across the UK.

As a Trustee, you’ll provide strategic oversight, support good governance and help ensure UKMSA continues to make a positive difference to thousands of people through local Men’s Sheds. We’re particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in charity finance, fundraising or HR/people management, but we welcome applications from anyone who believes they can make a valuable contribution.

This is a voluntary role (reasonable expenses are covered) with quarterly Board meetings, opportunities to join one of our Board committees, and the chance to help shape a growing national charity that is tackling loneliness, improving wellbeing and strengthening communities.

Trustee & Treasurer (Voluntary)

UKMSA is looking for a new Trustee who will also take on the role of Treasurer, providing strategic financial oversight and helping to ensure the long-term sustainability of our charity.

Working alongside our Chair, CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Finance Manager, you’ll support the Board in overseeing financial governance, reviewing budgets and financial performance, and ensuring UKMSA continues to grow responsibly. We’re looking for someone with professional experience in finance, accounting or a related field who can communicate financial information clearly and contribute to good governance.

This is a voluntary role (reasonable expenses are covered) requiring approximately one day per month, including quarterly Board meetings and occasional additional meetings throughout the year.

Why work with us?

At the UK Men’s Sheds Association, you’ll be part of a small, collaborative team who are passionate about supporting communities across the UK. Although we work remotely, we stay closely connected — whether through regular team catch-ups, an active staff chat, or meeting in person at Shed visits and events. Everyone is happy to lend a hand, and there’s a real sense of shared purpose in the work we do.

Our team works closely with a strong network of volunteers and Men’s Sheds, meaning you’ll see first-hand the difference this movement makes in tackling loneliness and improving wellbeing. As well as being deeply connected to grassroots communities, UKMSA is also helping shape conversations at a national level around men’s health and wellbeing.

We offer fully remote working, trust and ownership in your role, and benefits including 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, you birthday day off, two paid volunteering days each year, pension contributions, and a Christmas office closure. Most importantly, you’ll be joining a supportive team working together to help more people find connection, purpose and community through Sheds.

We’re a friendly bunch who care deeply about the Shed movement — and we’re always happy to swap stories from the latest Shed visit over a virtual cuppa.
