We are based near Chesterfield and try to attend lots of local events, Carnivals, Fun Days, Village Fates etc. We had a stall on Chesterfields main market on May Day (Organised by various trade unions etc) and made aroun £95 selling a range of hand made products. Most of these events will let you have a table for around £10, May Day was £20. We also display items in our local Community Centre.

    Hi Merrick
When you get up here we would like to invite you to visit our shed just outside Chesterfield. It may be a bit far from your planned relocation area but we would be happy to show you around and have a chat over coffee. We have a great workshop, postcode is S42 5EJ.

Pity you are not in our area (Derbyshire) we welcome ladies to our group and I always refer to “Men in Sheds” as a generic tiltle for the concept not just a man thing. I’m afraid in my experiance many people get carried away when put in a position of power particularly if they have not had a very important or responsible job in their life. We have had members resign because they couldn’t get their own way, often they were not looking after the Sheds best interests, only their own. I hope you are able to break down the reluctance in your area to open the shed to a wider audiance.
