- Have you struggled to get some of your members to join Zoom meetings?
- Do some of your members need help to learn how to use emails so that they can keep up to date with your events?
- Or do they struggle to pay for broadband or mobile internet data?
The Online Centres Network is a free membership network managed by the UK’s leading digital inclusion charity Good Things Foundation. We offer a range of support, learning resources (like Learn My Way) and funding opportunities for community groups and organisations of all kinds that help the people they work with to get online.
There are two projects that we think will be particularly useful to Men’s Sheds:
Connect Up
This is a brilliant and lively community of practice for any organisation that supports older people with their digital skills and has a focus on using the internet to connect with others and reduce loneliness.
The community of practice is all about sharing tips, experiences and creative ideas to get older people motivated to make the most out of the internet, safely and confidently. We have monthly meetups, specialist training and resource banks to help organisations that work with the 60+.
The National Databank
We are very excited about this project that gets sim cards and vouchers with mobile internet data out to people who can’t afford broadband or a mobile phone contract / top ups. If you think any of the members of your shed, or the community around you, would benefit from this initiative, please get in touch.

Lots of Men’s Sheds are already involved in our growing network in Australia, and we would love to get more sheds from the UK on board too.
