The UK Men’s Sheds Association is pleased to announce that Axminster Tools have agreed to become title sponsors of this year’s ShedFest event which takes place on Sat 25th June at Worcester Arena.
After two years of online activity due to the pandemic, UKMSA is excited to bring ShedFest back as a face-to-face event allowing Sheds and their members from across the UK to enjoy a range of practical, and organisational, sessions as well as networking opportunities within the exhibition hall.
More than 450 Shedders are expected to attend ShedFest along with a host of partner organisations from across the craft, DIY and Health & Well-being sectors, all aimed at helping Sheds to be able to deliver engaging activities as well as supporting members with their mental health.
David Meli, Partnerships & Community Development Manager at UKMSA, said; “We’re grateful to Axminster for further cementing their status as one of our major partners by taking on the title sponsorship of ShedFest. As our flagship annual event, this is a great opportunity for us to meet up with our members, and find out how they are dealing with the challenges that we have all faced over the last two years and how we can help them to continue their work in the future. Combatting loneliness, depression and providing engaging environments to support the well-being of men across the UK is one of the main aims of the Shed movement and we’re delighted to be able to deliver this event in partnership with Axminster Tools.”
Alan Styles, Managing Director at Axminster Tools, said; “We do what we do to create a sustainable future for Axminster Tools and the communities we care for. We’ve seen first-hand the many benefits that come with making and being creative, including better health and wellbeing.
Our teams are built from industry professionals, craftspeople and passionate woodworkers who share their knowledge and insights to support the future of woodworking; so that we all have a place to share our passion for making, and improving mental health across the nation. We actively seek to support organisations that encourage woodworking in community spaces. It’s why we’re delighted to partner with UKMSA on ShedFest 2022.”
