Ronseal extends paint donation project with UKMSA for 2025

by Allan Ogle

Shedders, we have some incredible news. Ronseal have kindly agreed to extend their offering of paint donations to UKMSA member Sheds for 2025!

It gets even better, despite last year breaking all records with the number of Sheds receiving paint to help their projects, Ronseal have committed to increase the number of Sheds supported this year too.

Sheds can order up to 10 items.

Whilst the project has grown significantly in popularity, this has brought some extreme administrative and logistical challenges for both Ronseal and UKMSA, and having listened to your feedback, we’ll be making some slight changes to the process to help improve its efficiency. For context, the project helped more than double the number of Sheds in 2024 than it did in 2023.

The process will still be completed via the online form the same as 2024 accessible via an online link. This will be a new form and the previous one won’t work. Only orders completed via the new form will be processed. Email/phone requests and old application forms unfortunately cannot be accepted.
This year we will be providing a product list with all the relevant Code numbers as well as the product names which help identify the specific products, the form will ask for this information, and this will ensure that what is ordered gets delivered.

To help with the logistics, there will instead be two windows this year processing 150 Shed orders in each window, meaning Ronseal is committed to helping a whopping 300 Sheds this year. The first window will open on Monday 10th March and the second later in the year expected to be around the Autumn, but advanced notice will be communicated.

Sheds will only be able to receive paint from one of those windows, if you miss the first window you will be able to apply for the second one. Both windows will operate on a first come first served basis.

We are also aware with the huge level of interest last year, unfortunately there were a small number of Sheds who didn’t receive their paint who contacted us. In the interests of fairness, those Sheds will receive immediate priority with their order during the first window, but won’t be eligible to apply during the second.
Once you have completed the form, you will receive a notification stating that your order has been submitted. Once the 150 Shed orders have been received, the order form will close and you won’t be able to apply in this window but you will at the next one later this year.

The form will close on Sunday March 23rd or when 150 orders are received, whichever comes first.
Following the closing date, UKMSA and Ronseal will begin with processing the orders and Ronseal will take over the distribution. We expect this part of the process to take 2-3 weeks following the original closing date. There is no need to contact us.

Following this and to help improve communications, we will be meeting with Ronseal on an approximately fortnightly basis, to get updates on what orders have been picked and delivered. An update sent to the email address provided on the application form, will be sent to Sheds to keep them informed.
Once your Shed has received delivery we will continue to communicate with the remaining Sheds until the process is complete and all orders are delivered.
We want to say a huge thank you to you all for the feedback received and we are optimistic these changes will make for a much smoother process.
We also want to express our sincere gratitude to Ronseal for continuing to support the Shed movement with further investment particularly in these tough economic times.

We would also be most grateful if you could document the projects that you complete with your donation from Ronseal, this could be videos, photographs or a written testimony. Details on how to submit these will be sent at a later date.We are anticipating the form won’t be open for long, so please don’t hesitate when the form opens.

So ahead of the applications opening you need to check the following:

• Is your membership with UKMSA still active?
• If you are not a member, you can find details on how to join or rejoin via the UKMSA website (please note, this does not guarantee a successful application but you will be eligible for all future windows and have access to the rest of the UKMSA member benefits).
• If you did not receive your paint in 2024 and didn’t make yourself known to us, can you please email the details of your Shed to allan.ogle@ukmsa.org.uk at your earliest convenience.

Thank you so much for your support with this and again to Ronseal for their continued support of the Men’s Sheds movement.

UKMSA Team.
