Hartland Men’s Shed is delighted to announce that it has taken possession of a new facility in Fleet, generously donated by Berkeley Homes. This generous gesture marks a significant milestone for the Shed, providing a permanent home where local men can meet, work, learn new skills and, most importantly, enjoy one another’s company.
We were delighted to welcome back our MP Alex Brewer to officially open the shed who only a year previously had opened our garden at our previous shed. Our new facility includes a new community garden which we have been able to develop due to a grant of £10,000 from Hart District Council which enables the shed to reach further into the wider community.
Previously used as a site office by Berkeley Homes, the facility has been made available to Heartland Men’s Shed as part of the company’s commitment to supporting the local community. Their generosity has given the Shed the opportunity to create a welcoming and practical environment that will serve local men for many years to come.
For Hartland Men’s Shed, the importance of having a dedicated space cannot be overstated. A Men’s Shed is much more than a workshop: it is a place where friendships are formed, skills and knowledge are shared, and members work together on worthwhile projects. Whether repairing furniture, working with wood, maintaining tools, creating community projects or simply enjoying a cup of tea and a chat, everyone has something to contribute.
The new premises will also enable Hartland Men’s Shed to expand the range of activities and projects it undertakes. Members are already looking forward to making full use of the space and developing projects that will benefit the wider Fleet and Farnborough community. The Shed’s commitment to recycling and reusing materials will continue, transforming unwanted timber and other resources into useful and often imaginative creations.
