Volunteer with
UK Men’s Sheds Association

Every day, volunteers help strengthen the Men’s Sheds movement across the UK. Whether that’s supporting new Sheds, helping at events, sharing professional skills or representing UKMSA in their local area, every role makes a difference.

If you have time to give and want to help more men experience the benefits of a Shed, we’d love to hear from you.

Promoting the difference Sheds
make within a community

Volunteers do more than we ever could alone.
The Men’s Sheds movement is only as strong and effective as those pitching in – we are grateful to all our volunteers.

Why volunteer with UKMSA?

When you volunteer with UKMSA, you’re helping more men experience the friendship, purpose, creativity and belonging that Men’s Sheds create every day.

As a volunteer you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Make a real difference to communities across the UK
  • Share your experience and skills
  • Meet like-minded people
  • Help shape the future of the Men’s Sheds movement
  • Be part of a welcoming team that supports one another

Whether your background is in a Shed, business, fundraising, communications or something completely different, there could be a place for you

Current volunteering opportunities

Trustee (Voluntary)
Help shape the future of the UK Men’s Sheds Association as a Trustee. We’re looking for people from a range of backgrounds who can provide strategic oversight, support good governance and help us grow the Men’s Sheds movement across the UK. No previous trustee experience is required.

Trustee & Treasurer (Voluntary)
We’re looking for an experienced finance professional to join the UK Men’s Sheds Association Board as our Treasurer. This voluntary role offers the opportunity to use your financial expertise to help shape the future of a growing national charity and support the Men’s Sheds movement across the UK.

Ways you can volunteer:

Volunteer Ambassador

Our Volunteer Ambassadors are experienced Shedders who support new and existing Sheds by sharing their knowledge, mentoring Shed leaders and promoting the Men’s Sheds movement in their communities.

If you’ve helped build a successful Shed and would like to support others, this could be the role for you.

From ShedFest to regional events and conferences, volunteers help us welcome visitors, chat with Shedders, represent UKMSA and keep everything running smoothly.

Community & Development Support

Help us connect with local organisations, attend networking events or introduce potential partners to the Men’s Sheds movement.

Ideal for people who enjoy meeting others and building relationships.
