An exciting volunteering opportunity is now available, supporting the NHS as it rolls out the COVID-19 vaccination boosters across England this autumn and winter.
Steward Volunteers are being recruited to support in non-clinical roles at vaccination sites in areas across England. They will join the wider NHS Volunteer Responders team.
Steward Volunteers provide a vital service by guiding and checking in people who attend for vaccination, freeing up clinical staff to vaccinate more people. We need volunteers from every community to join us and help boost the nation’s immunity, protecting the most vulnerable from COVID-19.
More than 25 million people will be invited to come forward for the booster jab over the coming weeks. Boosters will be offered to priority groups including those clinically at risk and everyone aged 50 and over.
It’s easy to sign up at nhsvolunteerresponders.org.uk.
Please note: if we sign up enough volunteers in each area we will close recruitment, but you will still be able to register your interest to be on standby if your help is needed at: nhsvolunteerresponders.org.uk/nextinline.
Individuals who live outside of our current recruitment areas will also be able to register their interest via the next-in-line form above.
Once the registration form is completed, an email with log-in details to sign up online will be sent. The GoodSAM app will then need to be downloaded on a smartphone.
